Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Vidya Setu ("the Service"), an academic companion offered for the IIT Kharagpur community. By signing in or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility and access

• The Service is intended for users with authorized IIT Kharagpur institute email addresses (e.g.@iitkgp.ac.in and approved subdomains), unless we explicitly allow otherwise.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

Acceptable use

• Do not misuse the Service (including scraping, attacking infrastructure, harassing others, or uploading unlawful or harmful content).
• AI-generated outputs are informational only. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on them (academic, career, or otherwise).
• Respect intellectual property when uploading or sharing materials (e.g. question papers, documents).

CV Builder and uploads

CV Builder processes files you upload only to give you analysis and suggestions in that session. We do not save or retain uploaded CV files on our servers. We do not use your CV to train third-party foundation models, sell your documents, or use them for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
• Vidya Setu is a student/community initiative and is not affiliated with IIT Kharagpur administration. Official policies of the institute still apply to you separately.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
