This Privacy Policy explains how Vidya Setu ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services. It applies from the "Last updated" date above.

What we collect

• Account information: When you create an account (e.g. name, email), we store what you provide for authentication and your profile in the app. Passwords are stored using a one-way hash; we do not store plaintext passwords.
• Usage and technical data: We may log requests, errors, and basic analytics to keep the Service reliable and secure (e.g. IP address, device/browser type, timestamps).
• CV and document uploads: If you use CV Builder or similar upload features, your file is processed only to generate the response you asked for in that moment. We do not save, store, or retain your CV or résumé files on our systems after that processing.

Your CV and uploaded documents

We do not sell your CV. We do not use your CV or résumé content to train public or third-party foundation AI models, and we do not use it for advertising.

We do not retain CVs. Résumé and CV files you upload are processed only to deliver parsing, scoring, or suggestions back to you during that use. We do not persistently store those files or the extracted text from them for later retrieval. Processing is automated; our team does not access your CV content except where strictly necessary to operate, secure, or defend the Service (for example abuse or legal process).

Structured fields you choose to keep inside the in-app CV editor may be saved with your account as part of normal app data — that is your working draft, not a copy we archive separately from uploads.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve features (including AI-assisted tools).
• Authenticate users and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
• Respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.

Service providers

We rely on vendors for hosting, databases, AI APIs, analytics, or error monitoring. They process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards and only as needed to deliver the Service.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies as needed for sign-in, preferences (e.g. theme), and session management.

Children

The Service is intended for university-level users. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date when we do. For material changes, we may also post a notice in the app or on the landing page.
